St. James has a long tradition of making Fastnachts three days prior to Ash Wednesday. People throughout Gettysburg and Adams County enjoy this pre-Lenten delicacy.
Fastnacht sales support our Youth’s workcamp fund.
Won’t you join us in making fastnachts? There is a task for all people, of all abilities and talents! Here’s our process where we need lots of helpful hands!

Sign-Up to Help Make Fastnachts!
Volunteer Slots are:
- Saturday, 2/10, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday, 2/11, 5:00 – 9:00 a.m. / 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, 2/12, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. / 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. / 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. / 10:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
- Tuesday, 2/13, 2:00 – 6:00 a.m. / 6:00 – 10:00 a.m.
