DESCRIPTION:The Gettysburg Community Concert Association is hosting a concert at St. James Lutheran Church on Tuesday\, June 11at 7:30 p.m.\nAdmission is $20 or membership to GCCA. \nRead more below or learn more about GCCA! \nFrisson is explosive! \nFrisson features the best and brightest of classical music’s stars! The group showcases emerging young artists as well as seasoned professionals and has skyrocketed to become one of the leading musical groups.  Frisson performs engaging programs for winds\, piano trio and piano quartet programs\, as well as popular programs featuring music by such composers as Gershwin and Piazzolla.  The ensemble performs in over 25 cities annually including appearances in such diverse venues as the Morgan Library and Museum in New York City\, for the Da Camera Society in Los Angeles and at the Bermuda Festival.  \nFrisson comes from the French word meaning “a shiver or a thrill\, a sudden feeling of excitement.” \nGetting to St. James\nFor your convenience\, a small parking lot is available at the rear of the church\, off Zerfing Alley. There is also handicap accessible parking spaces and a ramp into the rear entrance of the church. An elevator is available in the building as well. \nParking meters line York\, Stratton and Middle Streets. Street parking is free on Sundays until 1:00 p.m. \nThe Gettysburg Parking Garage is within walking distance of the church as well.

DESCRIPTION:Liberia Film:  “Pray the Devil Back to Hell”\nBrian Palmer is a missionary of the ELCA in Liberia.  St. James has supported Brian in his ministries for many years.  He will be visiting St. James for a ministry presentation & update on Tuesday\, June 25 at 7:00 p.m.  Event details here. \nIn preparation for his visit and to greater understand the civil war and women’s peaceful activism in Libera\, we will watch the movie “Pray the Devil Back to Hell.”  This film is NOT appropriate for children.  You can learn more about the film on the Folk Films website. \nWe will view the film on Sunday\, June 23 at noon/after the late worship service at church.  Depending on the size of the group will determine where we watch the film.  Please RSVP that you will attend\, as lunch will be provided.
