If you are considering joining St. James, the first step is to speak to Pastor Andrew in person, via e-mail or by phone. He will then set up an appointment with you to meet so that we may learn more about you and you may learn more about St. James.
Periodically during the year, we also have a New Members Class which is simply an opportunity for you to learn more about St. James, what it means to be Lutheran, as well as meet some of the staff. This is a great opportunity to also meet other new faces in the church. You can attend a New Members Class before or after you join; it is completely optional, but certainly encouraged.
Together we will find a date for you to join St. James, and you will be assigned a sponsor who will help you get to know other members of the congregation.
You can become involved in activities at St. James even before you become a member! Once you’ve made the commitment to become a member, we hope that you will be especially intentional about the responsibilities of membership such as faithful worship participation, learning, service, and giving.
