Rev. Andrew R. Geib

Lead Pastor

Pastor Andrew was ordained in 2015 before accepting the call as Associate Pastor to St. James. Pastor Andrew is married to Christina and they have two children:  Gabrielle and Noah. He enjoys playing sports of all kind, especially soccer and basketball. Pastor Andrew graduated from Penn State Harrisburg in 2009 and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg in May 2015. His ordination marked a milestone not only for the Geib family, but also for the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as it was the first time the synod has had three generations of pastors in one family!

Pastor Andrew was called as Lead Pastor at St. James in February 2022.

Jonathan Noel

Minister of Music

Jonathan is coming to St. James from his position as Minister of Worship and Music at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, where he lead music for ecumenical services at the campus chapel and health care center.  Previously, he served as Music Director and Organist at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York.  Jonathan earned degrees in music from Winthrop University (BMus) and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music (MMus).  In his spare time, he enjoys reading, biking, long walks, home improvement projects, and spending quality time with family.  He and his wife, Marian, have two children, Sarah and Adam, and live in York County.

Adam Michael

Director of Youth & Family Ministry

Adam Michael returned to the St. James staff in January 2022.  He grew up at St. James as a youth and served as the youth intern.  He worked for the Gettysburg Times, as a sports writer and then later as a reporter for the school districts.  Adam and his wife, Hannah, live in Gettysburg and have 3 dogs, a cat, and welcomed baby Miles in August 2022.  Adam enjoys opportunities to explore faith through the lenses of real life and the Marvel Universe.

Vicar Libby Baker-Mikesell

Seminary Intern, United Lutheran Seminary, Gettysburg, PA

Vicar Libby joins the St. James staff for her final year of Seminary as the Seminar Intern. She grew up on a 50-acre beef cattle farm in Juniata County, Pennsylvania. She was active in the Greenwood FFA chapter in Millerstown, and had multiple FFA leadership roles. Vicar Libby graduated from Penn State University in 2020 with a degree in Agriscience and Soil Science.

Immediately following graduation, she discerned a call to ministry and began her Master of Divinity at United Lutheran Seminary in the fall of 2020.

Libby enjoys running, baking, and reading, and her cat, Earl Grey.

Tom Bender

Building Superintendent

Tom has been St. James’ Building Superintendent since 2008. He and his wife, Mary, have two adult children: Jessica and Andrew, and three grandchilden. In his spare time, Tom enjoys singing in the Adult Choir, walking and running. (The children in Child Care especially love Mr. Tom!)

Karen Lentz

Church Treasurer

As recommended by the ELCA, Karen is once again overseeing the church finances for St. James Lutheran Church, as well as the finances for other institutions in Gettysburg. Karen graduated from Shippensburg University. She is the proud mother of a teenage son, Derek.

Katy Clowney

Church Administrator

Katy graduated from Gettysburg College with a major in Environmental Studies and minor in Spanish. After graduating she worked within the fruit industry for over 10 years. Katy lives in New Oxford with her husband, Mark, and 2 boys, Liam and Connor. Katy enjoys hiking, gardening, baking, and watching her boys play baseball.
