St. James can provide a space for prayer and worship as you grieve the loss of a loved one.
Please contact a pastor as you begin to make funeral arrangements so we can ensure building availability and pastoral care. We are happy to coordinate with funeral homes; please make arrangements with the church office or pastor at the beginning of planning service arrangements.
It is encouraged that individuals complete an End-Of-Life Planning Worksheet. Completing this worksheet – either for a memorial service or a funeral service – will outline all aspects of the service. By planning ahead, it ensures to fulfill your wishes, and may lessen the burden upon your family. Once completed, please return to the church office where it will safely be kept on file.
While St. James Lutheran Church does not have a cemetery, we do have a Columbarium where families can inter their loved ones’ cremains. This space is located on our upper level, and may be visited by family when the church is open, and flowers may be placed near the niche. Please contact the church office if you would like to view the Columbarium to aid in your end-of-life decisions and plans. There is paperwork and fees to reserve a columbarium niche. Please contact the office to make arrangements.
