At Confirmation, young adults affirm the promises made at Baptism. Preparation for Confirmation includes a period of time for study, fellowship, and service.

St. James has a three-year Confirmation program for Grades 6, 7, and 8 which meets on Sundays (during the school year) from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the Youth House.

Our Pastors, Youth Minister and several enthusiastic adult mentors serve as Confirmation leaders. We use the Faith Inkubators curriculum which covers Bible basics, the small catechism, the life of Martin Luther, and current ‘hot topics’ which youth of today encounter.

After completing 3 years of confirmation classes, various retreats, and spiritual development conversations with the Pastors and Youth Minister, Confirmands are recognized during worship (either on Pentecost or Reformation Sunday) as young adult church members.
