Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are lay people – Christian men and women – trained to provide one-to-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation or separation due to military deployment.


St. James Lutheran Church sponsors both Gettysburg Boy Scout Troop 79 and Gettysburg Cub Scout Pack 79, members of the New Birth of Freedom Council in the South-Central Pennsylvania of Boy Scouts of America. Meeting times:

  • Boy Scout Troop: Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
  • Cub Scout Pack: Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
